The E-learning/Instructional Designer is a creative and dynamic individual responsible for designing instructionally sound e-learning courses and additional training tools that are visually stimulating, easy to understand, and strengthen Texas Roadhouse culture across all brands.
Responsibilities
Design and develop interactive e-learning courses from end-to-end that are fun, engaging, and strengthen company culture.
Design and develop multi-media assets including image manipulation, animation, voiceover, audio, and video for e-learning courses or other learning solutions.
Design training tools for presentations, on screen viewing, or print as needed that are easy to understand, fun, engaging, and fit with company culture for Texas Roadhouse and all concepts.
Work with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) in the Support Center and in the Field to conduct needs assessments, develop content, and evaluate effectiveness after delivery.
Collaborate with Instructional Design team and SMEs to establish project timelines and deadlines.
Establish an understanding of the audience and learning needs for each project.
Write effective instructional text, learning objectives, and narration for audio and video scripts.
Photograph images as necessary for e-learning/instructional design.
Maintain, update, and improve existing content and designs.
Create learning solutions for special projects as needed.
Following company and department approved systems, maintain a regimen of tracking project status, saving documents, backing up files and hard drives as well as keeping a tight and accurate filing system of all electronic documents for safe storage and quick, easy retrieval.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, or relevant experience
Experience:
Level I:
Minimum 1 year creative design experience preferred
Experience successfully partnering with subject matter experts
Experience applying adult learning principles and course development methodologies preferred
Texas Roadhouse operations experience is beneficial
Level II:
Minimum of 4 years creative design experience
Demonstrates a solid knowledge of instructional design
Experience successfully partnering with subject matter experts
Experience applying adult learning principles and course development methodologies
May serve as a trainer and/or mentor
Texas Roadhouse operations experience is beneficial
Level III:
Minimum of 6 years creative design experience
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of instructional design
Experience successfully partnering with subject matter experts
Comprehensive experience applying adult learning principles and course development methodologies
Serves as a trainer and/or mentor
May act as a lead or first-level supervisor
Texas Roadhouse operations experience is beneficial
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, or similar software required
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs including but not limited to Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator required
Understanding of multi-platform development (cross-browser, cross-platform)
Understanding of SCORM, xAPI, and content deployment on a Learning Management System
Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
