University of Louisville Clinical Research Program Manager I (Research Manager) - Kentucky Reading Research Center (KRRC) - College of Education and Human Development in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 6 (Salary).Position Description:The Research Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the successful initiation of the Kentucky Reading Research Center focused on identifying and disseminating scientific evidence regarding literacy instruction. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, experience in research administration, and a background in educational research. Contingent upon continued funding, this position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the research project to ensure that it meets its objectives on time and within budget.The Kentucky Reading Research Center is a state-funded institution dedicated to advancing literacy through cutting-edge research and innovative practices. We value collaboration, integrity, and excellence, and are committed to fostering a dynamic and supportive research environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.Coordinate day-to-day activities to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.Monitor project progress and implement adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.Research CoordinationOversee data collection, data management, and data analysis processes.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements, including IRB approvals.Collaborate with the research team to prepare and submit reports to funding agencies.Facilitate communication among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.Keep Co-Directors apprised of research progress with regular communications.Team LeadershipSupervise research staff, including hiring, training, and oversight.Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.Organize and lead regular research team meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues.Grant ManagementEnsure proper allocation and utilization of grant funds in accordance with funding agency guidelines.Prepare reports and monitor project activities and deadlines.Dissemination of FindingsOversee the research descriptions and outcomes as necessary in manuscripts, presentations, and reports for dissemination of research findings.Assist with research reporting via workshops, seminars, and conferences to share project results with the broader community.Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in research project management, preferably with grant-funded projects.Experience in a leadership role within a research center or research project at an academic institution.Publication record in reputable journals.Experience with policy advocacy and public engagement.CompetenciesProject Management - organized, task oriented, ability to delegate and follow up.Proactive - anticipates and plans for problems before they arise.Analytical- evaluating data and other information with the ability to choose the best solution and make recommendations.Flexible - ability to change directions as needed for the good of the department or organization.Service Excellence - responsive, informs constituents of process, pleasant to work with, educates and provides timely, accurate information.Organized - manages time effectively, keeps tasks appropriately prioritized.Critical Thinking - ability to think through issues and identify appropriate options.Work Ethic - motivated, diligent, industrious and persistent in the workplace, stays on tasks to completion, works at a fast pace to ensure optimal efficiency.Interpersonal - can build effective, strong working relationships with employees, colleagues, management and vendors through trust, communication, and credibility.Teamwork - ability to work with others, serve others, help others, lead others, mentor others, take directions from others in the interest of moving process and programs forward to the desired outcome.Target Compensation Maximum:$77,600.00Target Compensation Minimum:$51,700.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
