Robert Half Assistant Controller in Louisville, Kentucky

Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves various responsibilities within our finance department, including processing payroll, performing account reconciliations, and overseeing fixed asset management.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently processing payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

• Performing monthly account reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts

• Assisting in managing the monthly closing process, including preparing and analyzing financial statements

• Overseeing fixed asset management, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation/amortization

• Ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations and managing the filing of sales tax returns

• Conducting budget-to-actual review and providing support with financial review processes

• Assisting with tax audits and providing necessary documentation and support to auditors

• Ensuring lease compliance with ASC 842 standards and maintaining accurate lease records

• Overseeing the customer base with a focus on risk and credit management, collaborating with sales and credit teams as needed

• Collaborating with the Controller and other members of the finance team to improve processes and streamline operations

• Providing support for external audits as needed

• Assisting with special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.

• Utilizing skills such as Month End Close, Financial Statement Preparation, External Audit, Fixed Asset Accounting, Sales Tax. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Month End Close processes

• Demonstrated experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Familiarity with External Audit processes

• Proficiency in Fixed Asset Accounting

• Knowledge and experience in Sales Tax processes

• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with various departments

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced setting.
