We are hiring a Substitute Teacher (Certified) to our growing team! The Substitute Teacher (Certified) will implement holistic care methodologies to support the success and well-being of students and staff. You will adhere to the policies of the Association of Christian School International, utilize the Abeka curriculum, and align with the school's vision to create a cohesive learning experience. Your role includes effective classroom management, adapting teaching methods to individual student needs, and ensuring student safety in all settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes holistic care methodologies to continually pour into students and staff with a sense of personal responsibility and compassion toward seeing them succeed.

  • Adheres to the policies and procedures in alignment with Association of Christian School International, Abeka curriculum, and additionally the vision of The Millard School when directing in-person and virtual learning platforms. 

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students

  • Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student

  • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria when necessary. 

  • Builds and navigates relationships with students and caretakers from diversified backgrounds with love, acceptance, and sensitivity.

  • Be responsible for the safety of the students throughout the school day in all settings.

  • Display flexibility with new ideas and challenges, and seek counsel in the unknown

    Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • Must hold, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education

  • Current, valid state teaching certification.

  • Previous experience working with children preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience with developmental disorders preferred. 

  • Proficient in office software programs such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.

  • Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication. 

  • Must be organized, coordinated, and manage time efficiently.
