Netflix Senior Business Operations Manager in Los Angeles, California

Netflix is one of the world's leading streaming entertainment service with over 247 million paid memberships in over 190 countries, enjoying TV series, films, and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause, and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Product Discovery and Promotion (PDP) organization within Netflix Product is looking for a seasoned business operations professional to join the PDP UCAN team. This person will partner closely with the PDP UCAN leadership team to enable PDP to even more effectively accomplish key business goals by assessing and implementing smart, effective, and impact-driven business operations (overarching systems, processes, and activities) to minimize friction, overcome challenges, and achieve results faster and more consistently.

Business Operations is a new discipline in PDP. This is an impactful role, working closely with senior leaders in the individual’s specific teams, often as the “right hand of leadership” but also working to connect the dots across the business. In previous roles you may have been a COO or a chief of staff, you may have led large teams or small, what matters here is not the hierarchy or the authority you had but the impact you drove and the ways in which you delivered it. Our culture is one of seeking excellence (https://jobs.netflix.com/culture) and we put a premium on it.

This role is also an on-going part of a virtual team of similar Business Operations professionals in the “PDP BizOps Squad”, working together to drive global business rhythms and initiatives into your respective organizations, sharing learnings and challenges, and bringing clarity to complexity across a fast-moving company in a fast-changing environment.

While we establish both this new virtual team and this new role, it will have dual-line reporting, to the Director of PDP UCAN and the Director of BizOps and Program Management for an initial period. We will review this arrangement after four months, with the ultimate intention of single-line reporting into the Director of PDP UCAN.

You will:

  • Define the Rhythm of the Business (key business beats) for PDP UCAN, aligned with the Global PDP rhythm of the business (and/or the overall Product rhythm of the business), including business-specific nuances where required

  • Drive the execution of the key business beats in PDP UCAN (e.g. annual planning, quarterly business reviews (QBR), joint planning with our product and engineering partners, annual title prioritization and quarterly title prioritization calibration, etc)

  • Be a thought partner and “right hand” to team leadership, addressing business operations-related needs and working proactively where business operations can help solve strategic problems.

  • Design and deliver solutions that address business operations gaps and needs for the PDP UCAN (e.g. planning and management processes, communication and stakeholder engagement frameworks, change and business transformation management, approach and handling of major cross-departmental initiatives and programs)

  • Collaborate with, organize, and advise the PDP UCAN leadership team on setting, refining, and tracking the progress of strategic priorities and initiatives that align with global objectives. This includes responsibility for intake, prioritization, and resourcing across the multiple business units in the wider team, many of which have their own independent portfolios, programs of activity, and projects.

  • Collaborate with key business stakeholder units, including financial and strategic planning teams, to ensure alignment on key PDP UCAN strategies, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Connect with other Business Operations roles within PDP to share learning and best practices and bring ideas back to PDP UCAN.

  • Travel as required, as part of a team with leadership distributed across …
