About being our Scheduler
As ourScheduler, you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan and design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.
As ourScheduler, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work, as required for the Terminal Development and Improvement Program. These schedules may incorporate several scenarios used to finalize construction sequencing and contracting plans. These projects may include, but are not limited to: Airline Terminal Improvement projects, Airport Service Improvement projects, Terminal Development projects and Asset Renewal.
Responsibility Highlights for our Scheduler
- Review project schedule submittals by Design and Contractor Teams
- Perform independent analysis of submitted schedules for Owner, ensuring all schedule submittal meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the contracts
- Facilitate coordination on interface issues between multiple projects
- Ensure submitted schedules follow LAWA project code and activity code structure
- Identify, understand and apply the relevant sections of the contract to each claim
- Assist with change order and claims disputes
- Complete analyses of contractor's delay claims and related time impact analyses within context of the contract documents and industry practice
- Examine claims and actual schedule for later or earlier completion
- Identify related disruption, acceleration and recovery opportunities
- Recommend apportionment of the delay and/or acceleration and any additional associated costs in accordance with applicable, accepted practices, such as AACE International issued Recommended Practice No. 29 Forensic Schedule Analysis (RP 29)
- Provide reports of analyses and briefing materials
- Develop reports that effectively communicate complex project sequencing and/or forensic assessments
- As applicable to particular claims, provide observations on potential delay mitigation, related schedule issues, communicate to team and recommend alternatives
- Contribute to the advancement of LAWA's goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications to be our Scheduler
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical field
- 10+ years of scheduling experience with 5 plus years in direct support of an active construction project
- Advanced use of Oracle Primavera software (mastery of Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher required), along with related software tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large-scale, complex heavy civil, vertical and horizontal projects (projects of at least $200M value and 3-years or greater duration) particularly for assessment of delay claims and potential owner's liabilities
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
- Demonstrated experience scheduling for multiple concurrent and interrelated projects
- Ability to effectively communicate technical and schedule related information in oral and written form to non-expert audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively with other subject matter experts and resources to support owner's evaluation of claims
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program, contract and the ability to communicate progress and indings to both technical and management-level personnel
- Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
Preferred Qualifications to be our Scheduler
- Relevant Professional Licensure and Certifications
- Prior experience in aviation and large transportation projects, is highly desirable

- A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $118,000.00 - $127,719.00/salary depending on experience.
