Description
UCLA OBGYN West Medical is a hospital-based teaching clinic dedicated to serving a medically and socially complex patient population. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for all aspects of patient care within the OBGYN clinic, including assisting with procedures (such as pregnancy termination and miscarriage management), performing phlebotomy, following up on labs and prescriptions, educating patients, coordinating and directing patient flow, and managing clinic activities. Additionally, this role includes administering medications, ordering clinic supplies, maintaining exam rooms, and performing other essential tasks to ensure the clinic operates efficiently.
The RN upholds and enforces standard operating procedures, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and promptly. This position involves patient assessments and interventions, adherence to best clinical practices, compliance with approved patient recruitment and enrollment procedures, accurate chart documentation, and quality assurance measures. Furthermore, the role supports the administration of the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), contributing to excellence in comprehensive perinatal care.
Salary Range: $59.46-$88.39 hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Current and active California RN license
BLS Card from AHA or ARC
BSN/MSN Degree
Demonstrated ability to perform patient triage, vital signs, administer injections, insert and maintain IVs, assist physicians in office procedures, patient assessment and answer questions from patients and families
Ability to participate alongside MDs/ NPs in the delivery of abortion care: pre-op procedures and instructions, clinic d&c, medication abortion, miscarriage management and more
Ability to conduct patient education both individual and group education, counseling on general health maintenance, prenatal care, pregnancy termination, birth control information including sterilization, and STD prevention
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of Women's Health and GYN practices
Preferred:
Knowledge of CareConnect/EPIC (1 year of experience)
Knowledge of state funded programs such as Medi-Cal, Family Pact and Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE).
Women's health/OBGYN experience highly preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish
