UCLA Health Research Technician in Los Angeles, California

Description

Come join our exceptional Department of Neurobiology, and help lead the advancement of cutting-edge basic science research into explorations of the brain and central nervous system. In this Research Technician (SRA 1) position you will work within our neuroscience lab, and conducts extracellular electrophysiology experiments in brain slices. Major tasks include preparing solutions for experiments, preparing brain slices, performing extracellular recordings, and analyzing the data.

Please note that this is a full-time 3-month limited position and may convert to career.

Salary range: $25.75- $30.71 hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Knowledge of basic cellular physiology.

  • Skill in using graphics software for the preparation of figures.

  • Experience with Matlab programming.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently compose, edit, and proofread material using proper grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of basic solution preparation: molarity and pH.

  • Skill in the preparation of brain slices.
