Description

The Department of Head & Neck Surgery is seeking to hire

a full-time Research Associate to join the Biomedical Laboratory. Primary

duties include:

• Developing, performing, and troubleshooting immunohistochemical assays

• Performing confocal microscopy imaging of processed specimens

• Conducting quantitative image analysis

• Completing statistical analyses

• Communications with team members and at lab meetings

• Ordering supplies and basic lab upkeep

• Other research duties as assigned

Salary range: $26.52/hr - $31.63/hr

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or Physiology (preferred)

Experience working in cell biology and immunohistochemistry

procedures

Demonstrated ability to conduct defined research protocols

independently, with excellent troubleshooting skills

Previous experience writing scientific publications

Ability to work well in a team including faculty,

postdoctoral fellows, medical residents, undergraduate students, and other lab

personnel

Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to manipulate small specimens for histologic

analyses, including cryostat
