UCLA Health Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Fellowship in Los Angeles, California
Description
The UCLA Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Fellowship program is a 12-month program that will employ an immersive hospital-based learning environment to prepare PMHNPs to transition into practice while developing relevant skills in critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and clinical skills. The fellow will develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and professional behavior required for specialty advanced practice in the area of mental health in acute care settings. The fellowship strongly values health equity and inclusivity and appreciates applicants with participation and leadership in these domains, as evidenced by coursework, community involvement or life experience.
Program Structure:
12-month paid fellowship program
The fellow will participate in direct clinical care, patient care coordination, patient and caregiver education, professional development, quality improvement, and organizational enculturation.
The fellow will rotate through sites which may include acute inpatient adult and geriatric psychiatry, inpatient child/adolescent psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, psychiatry consultation/liaison, partial hospital program.
The fellow will participate in and receive ongoing group and individual supervision
The fellow will also engage in didactics that will supplement clinical experience
This is a one-year contract appointment. A contract appointment may convert to career
Salary : $59.87/hourly

California RN Licensure, NP Licensure, and NP Furnishing Number-required
Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited program within the last 12 months-required
National Board Certification as a PMHNP-required
NPI number-required
DEA licensure-required
BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association -required
