Amergis Patient Transporter - Unit Support Assistant in Los Angeles, California

$20- $22

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Patient Transporter to perform a variety of activitiesrelated to the transportation of patients, specimens and equipment; greet andassist patients and visitors at various medical facilities as directed.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients to and fromclinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or van service as requested to includetransport of patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment

  • Assist clinical personnel intransferring patients to or from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.

  • Assist people in and out of vehiclesand escort or transport them to and from hospital lobby; carry luggage, open doors and obtainmessenger service for the transportation of people to other hospital locations.

  • Assist in the loading and unloading ofpatients onto ambulances and vans during periods of PRT non-service.

  • Perform valet parking duties asrequired; operate van to transport patients to outlying locations or to provide backup service for the PRTas requested.

  • Collect specimens, orders,requisitions and equipment and deliver items to appropriate destinations.

  • Assist in maintaining order andcleanliness in hospital lobby and entrance; replenish supply of information brochures in lobby and at entrancesthroughout the Medical Center.

  • Assist nursing staff with removal ofexpired bodies from units and transport to morgue.

  • Adheres to all Amergis and work siterules, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalentpreferred, but not required.

  • One (1) one year of experience as apatient transporter; preferred.

  • Ability to follow and provideinstructions to the public.

  • Good customer services skills; abilityto interact professional with patients

  • Current BLS card.

  • Successful completion of testing process.

  • Current physical exam, if required bystate regulations or contract specifications.

  • CurrentTB test or chest x-ray.
