Netflix Legal Technology Manager in Los Angeles, California

We are looking for a Legal Technology Manager responsible for driving progress on Legal Operations and Technology roadmap initiatives focused on increasing efficiency and effectiveness.

This position is intended to be a general technologist role and will involve managing multiple systems, having familiarity with a variety of technologies, and running projects across all legal areas supported by Legal Operations. The candidate must be a clear, concise communicator and have a passion for excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the technology roadmap within the Legal Operations & Technology team, aligning with broader organizational objectives.

  • Gather and analyze business requirements to drive product functionality improvements within the Legal department, while proactively identifying opportunities for new applications or enhancements to existing ones to enhance team productivity.

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and align technology initiatives with organizational priorities.

  • Work in close partnership with Engineering, Product Management, Employee Technology, Data Science and Analytics, HR, and Finance teams to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal outcomes.

  • Oversee the configuration, administration, and continuous enhancement of legal operations processes and third-party technology solutions.

  • Evaluate, test, deploy, and support technology solutions, ensuring efficient implementation and ongoing functionality.

  • Lead high-priority strategic projects aimed at improving processes across the Legal department, with a focus on establishing and maintaining a comprehensive legal data repository.

  • Develop and maintain expertise in critical upstream and downstream systems and workflows to facilitate seamless data integration and process alignment.

  • Utilize data modeling techniques to extract, analyze, and visualize data for reporting and decision-making purposes.

  • Serve as a liaison between legal stakeholders, Product & Engineering teams, and other relevant cross-functional groups to ensure alignment and collaboration in achieving both short-term and long-term product objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in roles such as software engineering, system administration/configuration, project management, operations (general or legal), tech operations, solutions management, or tech program management within the legal ecosystem. Prior experience in technology or entertainment companies is preferred.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack application development.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce development and Python programming.

  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools such as Spinnaker, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.

  • Experience working with Big Data platforms.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Proven track record of dissecting complex processes, identifying critical pain points, and implementing solutions to drive global business improvements.

  • Familiarity with cloud and on-premises technology solutions.

  • Knowledge of common legal technologies (e.g., deal management, rights management, e-billing, contract and document management, self-service contracting, e-signature, knowledge management, etc.) is advantageous.

  • Ability to adapt enthusiastically to an evolving and expanding environment.

  • Experience in AI technologies is a plus.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $350,000.
