UCLA Health Laboratory Assistant I - Neurology in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under
the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Laboratory Assistant 1 will conduct basic laboratory
tasks in the maintenance of human induced and embryonic stem cells (hIPSCs and
hESCs), and the generation of stem cell derived human brain organoids. The
Laboratory Assistant will also be expected to help maintain lab organization and possess experience in basic laboratory sterile culture techniques. Experience with human stem cell culture is preferred, but not required. Specific duties will include propagation of hISPC and hESC cultures, generation
and maintenance of stem cell derived organoids (after receiving training by
PI). Additionally, you will be responsible for routine ordering,
receiving, stocking, and cataloging of all lab consumables, and general lab
organization.
Salary Range: $19.32 - $22.37/Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to learn new software programs and laboratory techniques as needed.
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Ability to follow directions and prioritize work assignments to perform efficiently under changing workloads and competing demands.
Preferred:
BS in a biological or chemical science or related experience.
Experience with human stem cell cultures and maintenance.
