UCLA Health IT Facilities Engineer (flex-hybrid) in Los Angeles, California

Description

Under the direction of the ISS IT Facilities Manager, assume

responsibility for ISS Enterprise and Care Connect (Electronic Health Record

program), deploying and ensuring stability of the LAN/WAN areas for ISS &

CareConnect (Electronic Health Record Program) network and facilities

infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • lead project management and coordination of the construction process related to the communication infrastructure for West Valley Medical Center, Westwood campuses, Ronald Reagan & Santa Monica -- UCLA Medical Center & Orthopedic Hospital campus and clinics.

  • project management for data cable and facilities infrastructure management, implementation and the installation of project facility, including all quality assurance and completion of all data installs moves, adds and upgrades.

  • create project plans, communication plans, and all standard project documentation.

  • survey areas, design and report changes to physical site infrastructure and ensure existing services are not adversely by physical site survey activities.

  • track work orders in Service Now and ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner to meet timelines.

  • work within ISS Facilities on facilities projects, to ensure compliance with UCLA Health System standards.

  • work on facilities project site assessments; survey all areas and outside sites for terminals and second carrier entrance is part of scope of work and survey for potential cabling.

  • maintain current knowledge of known technical issues and appropriate solutions, information systems and manage facilities changes submitted through a change request and completed through change control.

  • provide expertise on IT Facilities projects impacting the UCLA Health System including ensuring engineering and operational support resources are focused on priority initiatives and activities.

  • provide project scope, status and resource requirements in UPLAN for ISS organizational projects.

This is a

flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 24 days a

quarter, within 2 hours of being asked to come on site, or as required by

operational need; there are no reimbursements for travel to "home

office" location.

Each employee must

complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement

parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations.

Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to

termination.

Salary offers are

determined based on various factors including, but not limited to,

qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position

is $95,900-222,100 annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the

University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately

$140,000 annually.

Qualifications

Candidate

must be proficient at all aspects of low voltage cabling including planning,

installation, testing, documenting of fiber optic, copper and coaxial cabling

systems. Must

have professional certification in low voltage data cabling. BICSI RCDD

Certification

Must

be proficient in the design, buildout, inspection and commissioning of

communication rooms and spaces.Must

be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Bluebeam, CAD, Visio and

related communications design software. Must

be proficient in the selection, installation, testing and configuration of back

up power devices. Must

be familiar with OSHPD/HCAI requirements related to communications projects in

hospital patient care areas. Must

be proficient in the design, provisioning and commissioning of cellular,

paging, Wi-Fi, Telemetry, etc., antenna systems. Must

have working knowledge of Carrier WAN circuit installation, provisioning and

testing. Must be familiar with Network architecture, device deployment and

interconnectivity.
