THE WORK:

  • Provide direct oversight of construction activities for multiple project sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards and contractual safety obligations.

  • Regularly monitor and enforce compliance with all current OSHA requirements relevant to construction projects, ensuring the safety of workers and the environment.

  • Conduct daily safety inspections on active construction sites in accordance with safety regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to identify potential hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.

  • Ensure adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements, tracking compliance with its guidelines and procedures on construction projects.

  • Assist the Program Safety Manager by attending safety-related meetings, providing requested safety reports and analyses, and offering recommendations on improving safety performance.

  • Attend construction meetings with the college project team and general contractor, leading safety topics (e.g., toolbox talks), reporting on safety observations, and reviewing the construction schedule for potential hazards.

  • Review contractor safety submittals, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Method of Procedure (MOP) plans, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, and more. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all safety documentation and assessments for high-risk operations.

  • Review contractor incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and contribute lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager for future safety improvements.

  • Conduct and document safety orientations for contractor safety representatives to ensure they understand the safety policies, procedures, and expectations for each project.

  • Enforce the zero-tolerance policy for non-compliance with safety regulations. Monitor and document corrective actions for workers found violating safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

$108,000 - $130,000 a year

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, New York or Washington as set forth below.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum 10 years of continues experience in commercial construction

  • Minimum 5 years of managing multiple projects in different stages of construction at multiple jobsite locations

  • Minimum 5 years field experience as Construction Safety Consultant working with General Contractors and Subcontractors

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in construction of educational projects in a campus environment.

  • Current OSHA 500

  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

  • Minimum of a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) OR Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Construction management, safety management, safety engineer or related degree

  • Additional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this position

  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER

  • Experience working with OCIP

  • Experience on modernization-type projects involving abatement, remediation and other hazardous waste material removal such as asbestos and lead-based paint

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with senior safety management with large building programs across multiple sites

  • Experience participating in scheduled construction progress meetings

  • Strong experience in incident and daily construction reporting
