Our West Geography is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in our Los Angeles office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is looking to provide designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for commercial building projects, including power systems, lighting, and fire alarm

• Gain experience working on diverse projects across all of our major business sectors including property, healthcare, science and industry, and energy

• Perform electrical load calculations and circuiting of equipment

• Perform photometric calculations for lighting systems and associated controls

• Support construction administration, by reviewing submittals and answering RFIs

• Work within a team structure and coordinate with multiple disciplines

• Work in conjunction with lead engineers and project managers to deliver quality work within commercial metrics

• Manage time and prioritization of tasks on a daily basis

• Participate in local industry Professional Associations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering

• 2 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings

• Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working

• Experience with Revit MEP

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems

• LEED accreditation

• Experience with power system modeling using SKM

Hiring Range:  The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Los Angeles is $84,000 and $95,000 . Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
