UCLA Health Capital Equipment Acquisition Coordinator - Westwood Main OR in Los Angeles, California

Procurement Analyst 4 will oversee and manage the capital equipment acquisition process for all Operative Services sites at both WW and SM campuses. As the recognized technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in perioperative services procurement, incumbent will help manage a $33M capital budget. Responsibilities include: assisting units with gathering product requirements, strategic sourcing of goods and services, acquisition of capital equipment, and contracting for product and professional services. Utilizing strong negotiation skills and business acumen, the incumbent will be expected to develop recommendations for optimal business deal structure during contracting. Incumbent will apply professional concepts and organizational objectives to complete complex assignments. Incumbent will work on assignments where analysis of purchasing options requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Procurement Analyst 4 will directly report to Director, Perioperative Business Operations. Incumbent will work independently and will partner with other stakeholders around high-priority initiatives. Incumbent is able to multi-task and prioritize effectively within frequently shifting workload. The incumbent must have a service orientation, as they will be working with a wide array of constituents.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience: 5+ years procurement experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

  • Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts.

  • Advanced negotiation skills

  • Skills necessary to make recommendations regarding purchasing alternatives of significance to the organization.

  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing function and products and services

  • Effective communication skills in order to present complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively within frequently shifting workload.

  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, with both management and senior leadership

  • Analytical skills sufficient to work and to solve problems with minimal supervision.

  • Working knowledge of Policies and Procedures

  • Ability to work on both SM & WW campuses

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality

  • Consistently maintains good guest relations interdepartmentally, using English language in both written and verbal format, uses good telephone etiquette, sensitive to co-workers, patients, physicians, and family members, consistently maintains a courteous and respectful manner, confidentiality of patients, healthcare or physician related information

  • Maintains a positive attitude and behavior: efficient and productive with time utilization.

  • Strives to be a team player.

  • Able to work independently

  • Possesses working knowledge and ability to operate an IBM PC System, utilizing Windows program and Excel.

  • Skill in editing correspondence for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

  • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and exercise good judgement in prioritizing assignments.

  • Must be able to establish creative work methods and effective strategies to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.

  • Must possess all the required skills to efficiently and effectively manage their responsibilities at the time of hire.
