ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cafeteria Attendant
Job Description:
The Cafeteria Attendant/Cook main function is to ensure all food is served according to specifications,
and work in conjunction with all line cooks.
Responsibilities:
● Communicate with the Chef to learn daily work tasks and their coordination, and complete a
daily prep list.
● Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities within a necessary time frame.
● Be knowledgeable of all areas in the cafeteria.
● Be knowledgeable of plate presentations and preparations of all menu items.
● Communicate with all cooks daily for proper parts and production requirements when needed.
● Keep the back and prep area clean as you work.
● Fill and maintain the prep list up to par, check daily.
● Check with MOD before leaving for the day.
● • Twice a Day cleaning schedule must include the following
● • Monitoring and disposing of waste appropriately
● • Cleaning down cafeteria appliances.
● • Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, including tables and chairs.
● • Maintaining cafeteria sink clean and disinfected
● • Cleaning out all contents from the common fridge before end of day
● (daily)
● • Sweeping and mopping
Required Skills/Qualifications
● Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in similar capacity
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and
effectively problem solving under pressure
● Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards
team members and guests
● Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
● Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
● Tips certified
Physical Requirements
● Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
● Must be able to endure exposure to heat, steam and hazardous cleaning chemicals.
● Must be able to stand for length of shift.
● Must be able to make periodical fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the
property to others.
● Must have previous experience working in a similar Food and Beverage department (kitchen,
cafeteria, etc.).
● Food Handler certificate required
● Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 20 pounds.
● Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.
● Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
● Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.
● Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
Grooming
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Salt Hotel standards.
Other
Bilingual or multilingual ability is helpful.
