Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in Los Angeles, California

Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry in Los Angeles, California. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee an accounts payable team and direct the processing of invoices and payments. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure accurate and timely payments are made, maintaining cash flow reports.

• Develop guidelines for the proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.

• Scrutinize expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.

• Verify payment runs before processing by reviewing checks and vouchers.

• Reconcile accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records.

• Ensure proper record keeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.

• Collect employer identification numbers or social security numbers from all vendors to prepare and submit 1099s.

• Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records for audits.

• Train and oversee employees involved in payment functions, providing assistance as needed.

• Interview prospective employees and select the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job. Requirements

• Proven experience in managing accounts payable in a wholesale distribution setting

• Expertise in account coding and accrual accounting

• Proficiency in using accounting software systems such as SAP

• Knowledge in automated clearing house (ACH) processes

• Familiarity with Concur software for expense management

• Ability to perform auditing of accounts payable processes

• Strong skills in data processing related to accounting functions

• Extensive understanding and experience in accounts payable (AP) functions

• Capacity to handle high volume and complex transactions

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent communication and team management skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferable

• Professional certification in Accounting or related credentials would be advantageous.
