Robert Half Senior Fund Accountant in Los Altos, California

Description

We are looking for a diligent Senior Fund Accountant to become an integral part of our team located in Los Altos, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our investment funds. You will work closely with our finance and investment teams to ensure accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of fund activity. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission of supporting innovative startups and driving investment success in the venture capital industry.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate accounting records for all investment funds, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations including FoF investments.

• Monitor capital activity, such as contributions, distributions, and transfers, to ensure accuracy and compliance with fund documents.

• Calculate and record fund expenses, management fees, and performance fees.

• Regularly reconcile cash balances and investment positions.

• Prepare LP/GP capital calls/distributions.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for investment funds in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Assist in the preparation of investor reports, including capital account statements and fund performance metrics.

• Collaborate with external auditors to support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Utilize your skills in 'Assets Under Management (AUM)' and 'Fund Accounting' to drive the financial success of our investment funds.

Requirements • Must hold a Bachelors / Honours Degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proven experience in a similar role such as Senior Accountant

• Proficient in Assets Under Management (AUM)

• Knowledge and experience in Fund Accounting

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Time management and organizational skills

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

• Adherence to professional ethics and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
