Applewood Centers MRSS (Mobile Response Stabilization Services) Program Manager in Lorain, Ohio
Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.
Program Summary: The Mobile Response Stabilization Services Program is a short-term, intensive community-based support program that can include safety assessments, de-escalation, skill building and referrals to ongoing support. The program’s goal is to keep kids in their homes and with their families throughout the treatment process, ensuring that the families are connected to appropriate and adequate resources.
Position Summary: The MRSS Program Manager will provide mobile response and stabilization services to youth (age 2-20) and families who have called the crisis hotline with a family identified crisis. Under the direction of the MRSS Director, the MRSS Program Manager provides administrative and clinical supervision to the entire MRSS team. The Program Manager will provide oversight of the daily operations of the program, including review and approval of crisis assessments and safety plans.
Essential Duties:
Provide administrative and clinical supervision to the program and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
Facilitate the implementation of clinical planning for clients, including assessment and disposition.
Assure all documents are up-to-date, including but not limited to: Crisis Assessment, CANS assessment, Safety Plans, Intake and discharge forms.
Ability and flexibility to step in and cover all roles of the program in order to keep operations occurring during times of staffing shortages.
Facilitate hospitalization for clients as necessary.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment according to HIPPA guidelines. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
Ensure the program meets all fidelity requirements.
Other Duties:
Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required trainings, certifications, and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required
Valid Ohio LISW, IMFT, or LPCC required. LISW-S, IMFT-S or LPCC-S preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience working with youth and families in a mental health setting.
Knowledge of the DSM-5 and diagnostic criteria. Experience with family systems and crisis intervention preferred.
Skills:
Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths , aptitudes, and abilities.
Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgement.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
Practical and creative problem-solving skills.
First Aid and CPR training required and provided by agency.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency's insurance company. Must be approved by Applewood to transport clients in own vehicle.
