The Target Pay Range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00 Hourly. At Mars, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Material Handler II works under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor to carry out the following departmental responsibilities: order fulfillment including picking, packing and land shipping. This position requires the ability to pull and pack orders in a timely manner; stock all items in correct locations using the inventory management software as well as the barcode system. This position requires the ability to multi-task as well as follow standard operating procedures at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Order Picking: 25% of position responsibility
Assigns orders to boxes ready to ship using barcode scanner
Picks proper item numbers and quantities per pick list
Order Packing: 25% of position responsibility
Use of barcode scanner to pack orders
Packing product in properly sized boxes
Prepares and packs products for shipment that require ice products in proper containers (Cold shipment)
Load and unload trucks using forklifts and hand jacks
Order Shipping: 25% of position responsibility
- Prepare boxes for shipment utilizing FedEx Ship Manager and UPS World Ship
Inventory: 20% of position responsibility
Manually stock inventory and use Great Plains inventory program systems manager
Complete Great Plains inventory inquiries and bin transfers
Other duties as assigned: 5% of position responsibility
Education and Experience
High School degree or equivalent.
Six months ‘ related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to solve general math problems encountered in day-to-day operations
Consistently displays attention to detail.
Proficient in oral and written communications, both internally and externally
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations
Beginner ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail
