    Pay Range (based on experience and needs)

  • $26.00-$30.00/hr

General Purpose:

Support the needs of Saunders projects through an effective equipment preventative maintenance & repair program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, equipment safety on diesel, gasoline & electric powered equipment/machinery

  • Perform required equipment service & repairs in the field while maintaining safe courteous driving habits

  • Review, schedule, and coordinate ongoing maintenance activities to maximize equipment utilization & minimize project delays

  • Recommend improvements in maintenance processes and techniques in order to promote more efficient operations

  • Maintain spare parts & maintenance supply inventory and coordinate with purchasing

  • Familiar with common computer software & equipment tracking programs

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

  • May be subject to overtime on an as needed basis

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

  • Technical training in equipment operations, maintenance and repair such as gained through apprenticeship, master mechanics programs, or technical training schools

  • Three to five years’ experience required. Knowledge of gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, DC electric systems, telescoping forklifts, aerial equipment, track & skid loaders

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required

  • DOT Medical card

  • Variety of tools related to diesel and gasoline applications

Physical Demands

The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position:

  • Spends approximately 40% of the time sitting, and 60% of the time either standing or walking while on the job

  • Occasionally* lifts up to 35 lbs. when moving equipment parts and may stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance while performing these same functions

  • Occasionally required to climb, crawl, stoop and negotiate ladders, stairs or other routes at and within project sites in order to fulfill duties

  • Constantly uses verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as tablets, mobile phone, laptops, E-Mail, telephone and radio.

  • Constantly employs eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery such as computer keyboard

  • Constantly utilizes full scope of visual capacity to travel to project sites and observe/verify project progress in addition to operating automated office equipment.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site, where the employee must wear all company or project required personal protective equipment (PPE), regularly work in outside weather conditions, walk on uneven ground, be aware of close moving mechanical parts, perform in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and the risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
