Job Description
Material Planners are responsible for managing MRP and planning for every part made or bought. They act as the quarterbacks on a large team that supports operations and supply chain, calling plays and ensuring all team members know their next actions. They interact with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to plan and manage production schedules, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and engineering build timelines.
Responsibilities
Responsible for demand, supply, and fulfillment planning within MRP.
Ensure Bill of Materials, parts, and master data are maintained within ERP.
Accountable for timely release of purchase planning messages to Procurement.
Accountable for timely release of work orders to Production.
Update demand to accommodate Engineering Change Orders and communicate changes to Procurement.
Create visibility of material position with line of balance reports, material shortage reports, clear to build reports, etc.
Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
Perform other duties as assigned by your manager, relevant to your role.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
3+ years of related experience as a Material Planner, Production Planner, or equivalent.
Proven ability to produce material line of balance and conduct clear to build reviews.
Proven knowledge of Material Planning fundamentals for master data management, order policy, BOM management, and planning release in MRP systems.
Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Works under moderate supervision.
Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
Typically requires additional specialized training.
Team-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines.
Work Environment
This role is onsite at the HQ in Long Beach - EDC building.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
