ASM Global Events Coordinator Internship in Long Beach, California

Events Coordinator Internship Description:

ASM Global, a leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, offers an exciting internship opportunity for Events Coordinator at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. The intern will be responsible for providing professional client services support in event planning, organization, management, and logistical coordination.

Rate: $18 Per Hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of facility operations related to events.

  • Meet with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and events.

  • Coordinate activities with various service contractors.

  • Guide clients in event preparation by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures.

  • Prepare cost estimates and monitor final billing.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and facility departments.

  • Monitor in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff.

  • Follow-up on client requests, concerns, and problems.

  • Attend appropriate planning, organization, and other event and facility meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2 or more years of related experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Good organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer knowledge required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move around the facility and stand for long hours during events.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to type event paperwork.

  • May require work inside or outside of the building, during events.

  • May be subjected to adverse conditions and moderate to extreme noise exposure during events.
