Sierra Nevada Corporation Systems Security Engineer II in Lone Tree, Colorado

As a Systems Security Engineer II, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise.

In this role, you will act as a security technical liaison and administrator of a classified mission system deployed for USG aircraft. You will help our USG sponsors accelerate cutting edge technology implementations while enhancing mission success. As part of a larger Systems Security Engineering and Cybersecurity team, you will be introduced to leading trends, capabilities and practices in our field.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead STIG compliance and Cybersecurity Operational Readiness efforts

  • Lead Windows Active Directory, User Account, GPO & Client administration

  • Facilitate Operating Systems (OS) Patch Management utilizing tools such as WSUS, PDQ Deploy, and Linux Repositories

  • Maintain and review system audit functions & records

  • Maintain & Support Public Key Infrastructure based authentication

  • Navigate Vulnerability Management via Tenable Security Center and/or Nessus

  • Navigate Cisco & Brocade Router and Switch functionality with STIG compliance requirements

  • Communicate, Collaborate, & Demonstrate system security features & functions to system engineers providing technical guidance and direction needed to meet todays Cybersecurity Requirements

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 3 years of relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Security+ certification

  • Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Implementation

  • Windows Active Directory

  • VMware - ESXi

  • vCenter Appliances

  • Thin Clients

  • vLAN Architectures Understanding of:

  • NIST SP 800-53, Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • CNSSI 1253

  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Linux System Adminstration

  • Tenable Security Center or Nessus

  • Splunk VEEAM & or Backup & Replication

  • Cisco, Brocade, & Curtis Wright Routers and Switches

  • Juniper Firewalls

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
