Sierra Nevada Corporation Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer III (Hybrid Eligible) (Contingent upon Award) in Lone Tree, Colorado
As an RF Engineer III, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, develop, and test our complex products and technologies. These cover a very wide range from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll be responsible for RF front-end design, radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis and filter design, RF frequency planning, analog-to-digital conversion, and circuit design.

Responsibilities:
Co-Site Analysis
Antenna Placement on Aircraft
Aircraft Antenna Selection
RF System Design and Integration
System Level Link Budget Analysis
Hands on Testing/Measurements
MIL-STD-464/461 Compliance Analysis (E3IAR)
Electromagnetic Simulations
Hazards of Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) analysis
Trade studies to select the best RF systems to meet requirements
Radom analysis/design to include material testing
Might Do:
Participate in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) efforts.
Create MATLAB, Python, an/or Excel tools to increase efficiency
Requirement derivation
Mentor less experience RF Engineers
Assign day-to-day engineering tasking to lower-level RF Engineers
Must-haves:
Bachelor's Degree in RF Engineering or related Engineering discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher-level degree may substitute for relevant experience
Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices, including various RF modeling, analysis techniques, and tools
Progressive Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience with Radar and Electronic Warfare
Experience with aviation radio frequency (RF) communications design, test/measurements
Knowledge of MIL-STD-464/461
Experience with electromagnetic simulation and analysis
Experience with Ansys products (Ansys electronics desktop, HFSS, EMIT)
Experience with FAA and/or Military Certification processes and requirements
Experience conducting trade studies to select radios/datalinks to meet system requirements.
Experience calculating Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communication (SATCOM) link budgets.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $104,827.91 - $144,138.38. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
