How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The AXIS construction team is widely regarded as an industry-leading technically focussed underwriting team. The team needs a Wholesale focussed senior underwriter to continue the expansion plans as we progress with delivering our 2024 plan.

What will you do in this role?

• A senior level or lead professional, developing as the ‘go-to’ person for business/industry expertise. Will become the subject matter expert on AXIS underwriting procedures

• Participate in professional associations to gain expertise and to network.

• Manage relationships with clients/brokers.

• Independently attend group meetings in person, and one-on-one client meetings.

• Plan, set priorities, and play a lead role with regard to client accounts. Interact with colleagues across the organization on their own to devise and negotiate resolutions to issues.

• Prepare analyses of risks, sets premium rates. Planning time horizon is several months to a year; heavily focused on execution of work but may contribute to marketing strategies and new product ideas.

• Will manage relationships that will affect the work of others. Will work with senior leaders on financial and policy decisions.

• Will have broad underwriting authority commensurate with the jobholder’s expertise.

• Will Manage their own book of business that may entail larger and more complex risks.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

In this role, you will typically be required to:

• Be in the office at least 3 days per week

• Represent AXIS through attendance at Lloyd’s at least twice per week

• Undertake occasional travel
