Meta UX Researcher - Qualitative in London, United Kingdom

Summary:

As a UX researcher on WhatsApp, you’ll have the opportunity to partner directly with cross functional team members to conceive, build and launch brand new products. Research is paramount to WhatsApp Business team's success - formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research is needed to mould early product ideas into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for market.

Required Skills:

UX Researcher - Qualitative Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with product teams to identify research initiatives

  2. Design hypotheses and lead studies that examine both user behaviour and attitudes

  3. Generate actionable insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate product experiences

  4. Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods, such as surveys

  5. Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways

  6. Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the people who could use our products

  7. Work closely with cross-functional partners (product management, data science, analytics, business, design, engineering, etc.) to identify and prioritize knowledge gaps in our understanding of the WhatsApp Business experience and design research that uniquely contributes to solving for those knowledge gaps

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in human behaviour related fields (Computer Science, HCI, Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Information Science, Political Science, etc.)

  2. 2+ years experience in applied product research

  3. Ability to create a research plan including logical formulation of a research hypothesis.

  4. Basic understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts

  5. Ability to ask, as well as answer product and user experience related questions

  6. Experience with a range of qualitative methods including but not limited to interviews, contextual inquiry, concept testing, and diary studies

  7. Ability to handle complex information and adapt to a changing environment

  8. Ability to communicate research results to cross-functional stakeholders with data storytelling, presentation slides, and storytelling

  2. Visual storytelling and design

  3. Some knowledge of survey is useful
