Google Web Ecosystem Consultant, Privacy Partner Engineering in London, United Kingdom

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Candidates will typically have 3 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).

  • Typically 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).

  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience with industry advertising solutions, including targeting, re-marketing, measurement and reporting, and/or experience working with the ad tech ecosystem.

  • Excellent technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical documentation.

  • Working knowledge of the major tools and technologies (front and back-end) used and the challenges facing web developers.

  • Ability to distill disparate observations into structured insights/feedback and trend reports.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

gUP builds innovative solutions that take user experience and engagement with Google to the next level, supporting users across products, countries, cultures, incomes, and identities. We advocate for users through partnerships with product areas at Google (and some Alphabet businesses), supporting Google’s consumer products ecosystem and enabling numerous launches for Google’s consumer products each year.

The Web Ecosystem Consulting team works with Partners, Product and Engineering teams to improve the quality and foster the creation of web experiences, make the web a compelling platform for end users, and ensure the web remains a commercially viable ecosystem. We aim to do this by working across partners and strategic creators on a one-on-one basis, consulting on product integrations of both Google and third-party site dependencies or services, in order to scale learnings across Platforms, Frameworks, and Content Management Systems with broader reach. Cross-functionally, we work with many teams such as Web Platform, Chrome, Search Ecosystems, and Global Product Partnerships on priority initiatives such as Web Privacy, Core Web Vitals, Modern Web Formats, Advanced Apps, and other topics.

  • Help prepare the web and ad-tech ecosystems for major changes in Chrome, to improve privacy on the web and the planned third-party cookie deprecation.

  • Drive early testing and adoption of Privacy Sandbox APIs while collecting, synthesizing, and sharing early partner feedback with Chrome product and engineering teams.

  • Provide end-to-end technical and consultative support to strategic organizations to help them prepare, implement, test, and migrate to new Privacy Sandbox APIs while satisfying their business needs.

  • Understand and represent the various interests and needs of a diverse set of partners, platforms, and ad-tech verticals (e.g., News, Commerce, CMS, CDNs).

  • Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders.
