AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The AWS Partner Network (APN) is the global community of Partners, from Systems Integrators to ISVs, who leverage Amazon Web Services to build solutions and services for customers. AWS helps Partners build, market, and sell their AWS offerings by providing valuable business, technical, and marketing support. There are tens of thousands of AWS Partners across the globe. More than 90% of Fortune 100 companies and the majority of Fortune 500 companies use AWS Partner solutions and services. As a Partner Solutions Architect you will help develop the technical capabilities of AWS Partners so they can be successful in the building and selling Cloud solutions to Public Sector customers. Working with Partners is a team effort that will require influence and coordination with many stakeholders; you will have ownership of the technical relationship with partners, making recommendations on partner solutions that best fit customer requirements for security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency and best-practice architectures.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures with the worldwide AWS Solutions Architect community. You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelise and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

Internally, you will be an advocate acting on behalf of the Partner to help drive continual improvements to the AWS platform, sharing needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features and services. You will also help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation by helping to hire, coach and mentor others.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military

• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries

• Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).

• Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures

• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

• Experience working with end user or developer communities

• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals

• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
