Sony Pictures Entertainment Senior Marketing Manager, TV Series – TV Distribution EMEA in London, United Kingdom

Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom . In order to enable us to meet statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom for the duration of the employment.

This role is a fixed term contract of up to 12 months to cover the maternity leave of another employee.

Based in our London office, the Senior Marketing Manager - TV Series EMEA will develop and implement the Marketing strategy for TV Content Distribution (FTA, Pay & Basic, SVOD, Transactional and AVOD) across the region, working closely with the Executive Director – TV Series EMEA. This role will work alongside local Marketing teams in each country within the EMEA region and will act as the ultimate brand advocate, successfully demonstrating passion, excitement, and commercial acumen across all episodic television releases in the TV distribution and home entertainment windows.

In this position you will set a clear strategic direction for Marketing, specifically related to our B2B and B2C approach for our current and library TV series as well as the development of new growth opportunities that will drive consumer engagement such as Sony’s strategic approach to AVOD and library growth aspirations.

Alongside the Executive Director of TV Series Marketing, you will also be the central point of contact with the International and domestic teams in Home Office, ensuring the EMEA region is strongly represented.

Key Responsibilities – TV content Marketing:

  • Work closely with territory marketing and sales heads to understand priorities for the business unit, and craft strategic marketing plan accordingly

  • Partner with Executive Director TV Series Marketing, taking accountability for individual TV brands and having specific accountability for projects outside of content such as event activation

  • Own and drive a pro-active pre-Sales marketing approach for all New, Returning and Priority TV Series, proposing creative ideas and tactics that could be implemented at a multi-territory level

  • EMEA budget management across pre-sale and launch activity for specific TV series

  • Partner with Executive Director, TV Series EMEA, on marketing efforts towards internal Catalogue Growth Initiative (CGI) goals, working alongside LA partners and regional steering committee

  • Work in close collaboration with the publicity team to develop and execute creative & innovative publicity campaigns across our major releases ensuring there is seamless integration of the publicity plans into the overall Marketing strategy for each series

  • Work with the research and insight teams to develop a close audience understanding and understand how to use and interrogate data to enable the most effective pitches and partnerships with clients. Ensure industry insight, future trends and competitor tracking are utilized to drive new innovative marketing solutions across series

  • Deliver any trade presentations, pre-sales events, customer events and internal showcases and events to ensure we are communicating a consistent and positive message both internally and externally

  • Strong partnership approach with clients –drive new ways to support key broadcasters with their efforts to use Sony IP to engage and grow their audiences

Key Responsibilities – Communication & stakeholder management:

  • Support the EMEA territories in their B2B and B2C marketing efforts, with particular focus on helping any territory challenges with approvals and implementation as well as looking to amplify individual territory initiatives across the region.

  • Responsibility for tracking all new TV series information such as up to date territory licensing information, Premiere dates and an understanding of the Sales and Marketing strategy and Assets available to support pitching

  • Coordinate and partner with the Central Marketing Team in LA to ensure consistent approach and strategy across TV series content

  • Key point person to connect TV series information and strategy to each EMEA territory Marketing team, working closely with each territory to drive key launches in each market

  • For specific series that originate from one of SPE’s International production partners, responsibility, alongside the Executive Director TV Series Marketing, for managing the relationship between SPE, the specific OpCo and the commissioning broadcaster – managing meetings/communications and taking an active role in building out opportunities that support distribution

  • For International production projects, ensure clear communication back to LA Marketing team who manage the partner relationship. Provide on the timezone support and ensure clear feedback loop to LA

Candidate Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree with typically, 6+ years minimum of experience in Marketing roles.

  • Experience of working across multiple European markets desirable, to ensure comprehensive understanding of territory specific marketing approaches

  • Strong interpersonal skills required and ability to manage multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and persuade others

  • Commercially focused and able to understand business plans and control budgets

  • Proven track record in delivering creative, innovative and commercial marketing campaigns in a complex multi-faceted organization or environment.

  • Demonstrated success in devising and executing strategic marketing objectives and cascading these objectives and ways of working

  • Self-motivated team player and facilitator

  • Change orientated
