Global Commercial is accountable for setting standards, frameworks, policies, as well as accelerating commercial capabilities globally. It is a team of high functional experts with strong leadership to craft and influence the commercial direction for Diageo to deliver accelerated growth. The function focuses on key commercial areas capabilities including Revenue and category growth management and shopper and customer marketing. In addition, this team is set up such that it can drive simplification and deployed against strategic commercial priorities in an agile way.

Financial:

Strong financial skill, understanding of interdependencies across markets to tie together and articulate the commercial opportunity.

Market Complexity:

All markets have various levels of complexities, including broad brand portfolios, different route to Consumer, varying levels of consumer and customer data and different consumer expectations.

Markets are also of varying levels of maturity/capability.

Purpose of Role

The Sales Analyst will support the business in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data to derive insights and trends which will craft and improve commercial strategies. They will play a key role in developing and maintaining commercial reports and support execution activities for the broader commercial teams.

Top Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with commercial teams to scope data and report which needs to be developed is service of business performance.

  • Drive sharp actionable insights, that are forward thinking and tackle business requirement using advanced data analysis across different data sources

  • Identify and recommend strategies to enhance commercial processes, streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.

  • Provide analytics support to commercial teams on critical initiatives.

  • Recommend tool and framework that will simplify how work is done and drive efficiency and pace.

Qualifications, Experience and Leadership

3+ years of experience in commercial roles with proven analytical skills, data mining and insights generation.

A commercial/business qualification is highly preferred.

Added prior experience in Strategy or Finance is also preferred.

Commercial savvy – Has good understanding of business end to end and commercial, to be improved in finding efficient solutions to commercial problems.

Performance driven - Has an acute focus on performance and results, holds himself/herself accountable for performance and determined to win.

Problem solving – and critical thinking, able to accurately assess problems and come up with effective solutions as well as using data and insight to provoke and inspire a different future.

Strong analytical skills - with experience in data harmonization, modelling, and visualization.

Influencing – works collaboratively with their team and partners across the business and compel other to drive better business outcomes.

Communication – excellent communication skills to convey complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.

Agile - Demonstrates pace and urgency, responding quickly to emerging threats and opportunities, an ability to navigate matrix organisation.

Personally resilient – able to maintain motivation and emotional balance in the face of pressure and high-performance expectation.
