WTW Risk Engineer - Property Risk in London, United Kingdom

Excellent opportunity for a Risk Engineer to join our Core Industries Risk Engineering team, where you will manage accounts for large multi-national organisations!

This role is based from our London office. After an initial induction period, the expectation is for you to be in the office approximately 2-3 times per month.

The Role

• Work with WTW account teams to provide risk engineering programmes for our international clients.

• Co-ordinate and manage the execution of surveys on a global basis to the satisfaction of clients and with the involvement of market engineers, as appropriate.

• Communicate effectively with our clients, to help them understand their challenges and industry best practices and assist them in implementing pragmatic solutions, where appropriate.

• Develop risk improvement recommendations that are clear, appropriate and are fairly balanced between the interests of clients and insurers.

• Prepare risk engineering reports to assist in the placement of client insurance programmes, in a timely manner.

• Develop estimated loss calculations for each client facility.

• Provide support to the wider WTW client servicing teams in order to assist in the overall management of client accounts. This includes providing technical advice in a clear and helpful manner and providing support across a variety of risk issues.

• Maintain technical competency in your relevant industry sector and keep up to date with risk management developments (e.g. attend seminars, review technical publications, etc.).

• Represent WTW professionally in all internal and external interactions.

The Requirements

• High level of Risk Engineering technical expertise, with experience of carrying out property risk surveys.

• Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical subject, such as engineering. Membership of a relevant technical association such as IChemE, IMechE or IFE is preferable.

• Risk management qualifications or relevant accreditations.

• Comfortable travelling extensively (approximately 80 days per year) both within and outside of the UK.

• Self-starter, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively relate to individuals at all levels – from site technicians up to company CEOs.

• Proven ability to write detailed reports of a varied technical nature, which are accurate, concise and show good attention to detail.

• Experience of working with NFPA, FM and other international property conservation codes.

• Working knowledge of fire protection and detection systems.

• Knowledge of NATCAT risks and mitigations.
