In service of Amazon's Prime Video customers globally, it is our role to produce and acquire content, including popular Originals such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Fallout, Saltburn, Clarkson Farm, LOL, Culpa Mia and Maxton Hall. The right individual will have exceptional Finance and data analysis skills to dive deep into massive data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, QuickSight, Tableau, MS Excel and other data manipulation languages. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.
This position will support the EU Production Finance team along with the other studios operation teams of our fast growing film and television studio production business. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at an early, high growth stage and have ownership of production finance and payable functions. The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work effectively autonomously and drive projects with the team and cross-functionally with other teams including Development, Production & Operations, Legal and Business Affairs, Finance and Accounting. The candidate will need to able to collaborate with business partners across the globe and must display strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level business managers. The ideal candidate will understand the television and original production business and be able to liaise between the Amazon business teams and local producers.
Key job responsibilities
Improve and automate financial reporting mechanisms
Prepare financial metrics, financial analysis, and financial reporting
Ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable insights.
Strong data driven storytelling skills.
Create and deliver compelling dashboards with visualization, and writing the document to explain the analysis, and providing insights.
Working experience with visualization tools (Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), ability to create interactive, user-friendly, and compelling dashboards and reports.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a complex work environment, focusing on high-value activities.
Experience in working with databases and data mining techniques in a business environment
Identify, develop and execute data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunities
Learn and understand the broad range of Amazon’s data resources and develop knowledge of how, when and which data sources to use
Build new reports/dashboards to enable emerging business use cases This position is located in London (UK), but some international travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
Demonstrated experience working in Analytics or Business Intelligence environment.
Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience.
Ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable insights and data driven storytelling skills.
Ability to create interactive, user-friendly and compelling dashboards and reports using visualization tools like Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP)
Tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
Experience working in the entertainment industry, preferably in TV and Film Production.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Genuine interest for finance with the ambition to become a member of the EU Prime Video Finance team
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a complex work environment, focusing on high-value activities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
