WTW Professional Indemnity Claims Advocate in London, United Kingdom

The Role

Role is for an experienced professional indemnity lawyer claims handler to represent the WTW Legal Services Practice clients, and we are seeking a candidate who has expertise and experience in defending claims against professional services firms, with a particular focus on law firms.

The candidate will be required to ensure that claims outcomes for clients meet or exceed expectations.

This will be achieved through providing support to clients and the team, including but not limited to;

  • Notifications and updates to Insurers on receipt of a new claim advice

  • Responding where required to both client and insurer queries including any coverage issues raised

  • Providing advice to Clients and facilitating settlement in liaison with the client and Insurers

  • Liaising with co-insurers on behalf of the lead to obtain full market agreement where needed

  • Collating loss information

  • Manage and resolve Client / Carrier / Internal Clients and day-to-day queries

Key tasks to include;

  • Work to ensure timely delivery of Key Client Outcomes

  • Work with external parties, including insurers, TPA’s etc to ensure timely delivery of Key Client Outcomes

  • Communicate effectively with Insurers to ensure minimal delays for clients

  • Negotiate and drive forward claim strategies with clients and Insurers, based on technical and market knowledge.

  • Manage client service delivery and client expectations whilst adhering to standardised Group policies and procedures and to agreed Service Standards / KCOs

  • Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures, including all WTW and other regulatory requirements

  • Understand the Client’s business and their requirements

  • Build constructive Client and 3rd party relationships and, where appropriate, attend Client/Insurer/TP meetings

  • Support business development opportunities in ‘selling’ the claims function to prospective clients.

The Requirements

• Preferably an experienced practitioner with legal qualifications.

• Relationship builder who is seen as a trusted advisor to clients and adept at building long term relationships with relevant stakeholders.

• Strong technical knowledge enabling the individual to act with autonomy across a client portfolio.

• Acts as a leader across a portfolio of complex claims and has the gravitas to be seen as a leader by clients.

• A team player who takes the time to understand the team culture and embraces the supportive and collaborative nature of the team.
