Amazon Principal - Global DEI Business Partner, AWS Inclusive eXperiences & Technology (IXT) in London, United Kingdom

The AWS Inclusive eXperiences and Technology (IXT) team is seeking an experienced and influential DEI Business Partner to lead as a Single Threaded Leader for a select AWS organization for both APJC and EMEA. This IXT Business Partner will collaborate with the Leadership and PXT teams to contribute diversity perspective to business strategy and goals.

Reporting to the AWS IXT Leader for APJC and EMEA, you’ll use your skills to work both across the business as well as with specific teams to help them develop and rollout innovative and impactful DEI plans.

You’ll partner with the business leadership team to design, coordinate, roll out and measure our DEI initiatives. You will also partner with the Amazon Inclusive Communities and Inclusive Experiences Offices to drive adoption of corporate-wide programs into our organization.

You will measure and communicate results against committed DEI actions, so that we can ensure meaningful and measurable progress towards DEI and business goals.

This role will plan, execute, and deliver work product in multiple formats including mechanisms and frameworks, self-service tools, in-person development activities, presentations and specific consultation based on leader need.

Just as importantly, at times, you will help track and communicate results at the senior leadership level and be a spokesperson for APJC and EMEA DEI for the specific org.

This role requires the ability to be a thought leader, to customize solutions for select AWS organizations and the unique Amazon culture, to educate and influence a team of passionate and engaged Sr. leaders, and the ability to translate strategies or prior practices into practical and actionable solutions that meet business needs. So you are both a strategic thinker and sometimes program manager who can roll up their sleeves and implement at the same time.

Ability to access and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, address partner concerns, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs as they implement centralized guidance around diversity program execution is critical.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and drive the IXT/DEI strategy and initiatives for the select AWS organization in APJC and EMEA with an aligned view of the Global DEI strategy

  • Execute the IXT strategy to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive workspace

  • Leverage mechanisms to regularly update the business leaders on progress and business impact - Build IXT plans aligned and in support of our business plans

  • Develop goals and strategies

  • Implement and scale initiatives across both APJC and EMEA for the organization

  • Provide consulting to HR Business Partners and Sr. Business leaders to develop appropriate reports, metrics and research

  • Maintain DEI data integrity and report on such data

  • Partner with the HR team to develop mechanisms that foster a more inclusive environment

  • Establish alignment and partnership with the HR Business Partners and Recruiting Teams

  • Earn trust across a range of levels and disciplines to establish yourself and the team as a trusted SME with business partners and HR teams

  • Partner with Central IXT teams to share and identify best practices, leverage effective tools from across Amazon and deploy them in a way that is meaningful to business partners and works for APJC and EMEA

  • Influence global diversity strategies and practices that work across all of Amazon through collaborative partnership with the broader IXT Organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience operating as strategic global partner for the leaders, defining and delivering diversity, inclusion & equity strategies with significant business impact.

  • Previous work that focuses on efforts that solve large, significantly complex, and/or highly confidential problems to surface proposals grounded in subject matter expertise and internal/external research.

  • 7+ years’ experience working in an HR or business function, preferably with tech background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically. ·

  • 3+ years of relevant DEI experience

  • Experience in enabling and embedding world class projects across multiple businesses.

  • Experience and credibility as a leader in an environment where the ability to influence, work across a complex matrix, and build relationships is critical.

  • Strong organizational skills, successful collaboration with colleagues, and a strong results orientation.

  • Ability to identify and surfaces risks/opportunities in org-level strategies and makes trade-offs: business opportunity vs. resources vs. sustainability.

  • A driven, results-oriented and resourceful leader who is capable of quickly taking control of their responsibilities and establishing themselves as a credible strategic partner.

  • A highly effective written communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and leaders.
