Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Global Project Controls (GPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.

To help us accelerate achieving our objectives, growth, and transformation, we are looking for a Land Development Cost Manager to support our Land Development and Community program in EMEA. The LDC Manager will work alongside the regional LDC Lead to commercially manage all Land Development & Community (LDC) construction projects.

Responsibilities
Provide commercial management to the projects to ensure that Microsoft are financially and contractually protected
Management of all commercial issues on all current, future and past projects and report on these issues through the Project Controls & LDC head office in Redmond on a regular basis
Commercial management of the GC from liaison with our procurement office on the RFP documents through to the final payments and agreement of the final accounts and paperwork. This will also include:
Pay application assessment and approval for the GC, all equipment vendors and all project support consultants
Review and agreement of all GC procurement of the subcontract packages including the approval of the LOAs (Letters of Authorization)
Commercial management of all other program vendors including AE, Permitting, AHJ’s, PMQS, QRA to include:
Manage the QS firm contracted to provide commercial support in the region.
Manage the resources allocated to the projects to ensure that they are appropriate in number and quality

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND significant quantity surveyor experience OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience working on data center projects.
Good communication skills, ability to collaborate with all other areas of the data center program, being able to think strategically, ability to build the trust of our construction partners needed to report our on very large CAPEX portfolios.
Must possess a clear understanding of the full Construction Life Cycle
Develop, maintain, and report out on project scope, schedule, and budget with cost as the main driver in those conversations.
High personal standard to deliver a thoughtful, polished, and quality portfolio report-out deliverable.
Ability to present data from detailed to high-level depending on audience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
