The EMEA Finance Manager will be responsible for oversight of the financial accounting and reporting processes related to equity co-investments held by CBRE Group, Inc in real estate across the EMEA region within Investment Management. The EMEA Finance Manager will be responsible for reviewing and consolidating deliverables across the EMEA region for CBRE Investment Management providing valuable insights to Leadership related to the performance and reporting of equity co-investments. Reporting to the Senior Director based in London the successful candidate will be a qualified ACA or CPA, with Big4 audit background having previously accounted for equity investments under ASC 323 ideally in a U.S.-based multinational company within Financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting processes and financial reporting for real estate equity co-investments made by CBRE Group, Inc across the EMEA region, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

  • Liaise with Investment Accounting & Reporting (IA&R) to monitor across the EMEA region that all capital call notices are approved by Leadership and funded by Treasury in a timely manner.

  • Review all distribution notices issued are documented and accounted for appropriately between capital and income distributions.

  • Account for equity co-investments held by CBRE Group, Inc within CBRE Real Estate Funds performance and quarterly Net Asset Value reporting working closely with the Fund Accountants to ensure fair value gains and losses are appropriately recognised in line with the equity method of accounting under ASC 323 Equity method investments and joint ventures.

  • Consolidate equity co-investments including ownership percentages and equity investment roll forwards are summarised quarterly to Senior Management and SEC Technical Accounting & Reporting team.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and supporting schedules using Smartsheet for equity co-investment transactions, monitoring and analysing related activities on a quarterly basis for cashflow reporting purposes.

  • Understand the disclosure implications of material transactions and work closely with the SEC Technical & Reporting team to ensure the completeness and accuracy of equity co-investment related disclosures and footnotes for CBRE Group, Inc consolidated financial reporting purposes.

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls in compliance with SOX over the equity accounting process, as well as participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support as needed.

  • Liaise with the Global finance team to resolve any financial accounting activities and questions on a timely basis, providing accounting data input to requests from Management and FP&A on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet variance analysis for the EMEA region providing commentary for material balances and movements to the Global reporting team.

  • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts related to co-investments within Trintech Cadency.

  • Propose and implement documentation and process improvements evolving around the non-consolidated equity investment program.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Qualified ACA or CPA with 5+ years of experience with Big4 audit background ideally previously worked in US global matrix environment within Financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP in particular application of ASC 323 Equity method investments and joint ventures.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders

  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, proficient at using Microsoft Excel

  • Self-starter, able to resolve issues with own initiative, ask questions, detect problems and provide

  • Positive mindset with a drive to continually improve and challenge existing processes

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate across functional areas and geographic regions, and build relationships

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, OneStream and Trintech Cadency, TM1, PowerBI, Smartsheets is desirable.
