OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT / SECTION

International Equity Derivatives team focused on Equity Financing, Volatility and bespoke Derivatives Solutions.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Trading role with a main focus on the pricing, structuring and execution of index equity derivatives strategies.

  • Accurately pricing and hedging risk for equity index derivatives, including total return futures

  • Accurately pricing structuring and hedging dividend future strategies

  • Underlying coverage including European, North American and Japanese index financing strategies.

  • Key focus on developing desk tools, managing and improving P&L and internal reporting processes

  • Track record of building business infrastructure, managing and mitigating key operational trading risks.

  • Daily support and integration with stock loan REPO trading teams, familiarity with index replication and tracking techniques.

  • Good cultural fit essential as working in a small trading team with a broad mandate trading a global book so candidate needs to be proactive, resilient and collegiate.

  • Technically proficient with a good understanding of the technical aspects of a bespoke global delta one equity derivatives book including pertinent regulatory, operational and tax considerations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pricing and development of equity Index strategies.

  • Efficient risk management of all lifecycle events with a focus on corporate actions and rebalances.

  • Support and collaborate on TRS/SBL financing strategies.

  • Oversee operational elements of the book for both swaps and futures, liaising closely with middle and back office to resolve any issues and implement process and platform enhancements

  • Liaise closely with support functions (Compliance/Finance/Risk) on position reporting and analysis

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Relevant experience trading in equity index and equity Delta One.

  • Working knowledge of equity TRS, equity futures trading and dividend futures strategies.

  • Track record of developing desk tools and building a new trading businesses.

  • Current working knowledge of latest industry initiatives

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of TRS financing strategies

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential

  • Proficiency in all aspects of trading index derivatives financing strategies from execution though all lifecycle events

  • Entrepreneurial problem-solving mindset, able to self-generate flows

  • Technical proficiency in use of trading platforms e.g. Bbg/Apex/Murex

Preferred

  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Regulatory (FCA) Certification

Preferred

  • Further professional qualifications (Masters/CFA/CQF) an advantage
