What Is the Opportunity?

Here at Travelers we are currently looking for a Claims Relationship Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis. This brilliant opportunity will allow you to build upon your claims experience. As a Claims Relationship Specialist, you will be out and about speaking face to face and conference calling with our clients, so strong and confident communication is a key aspect of this role.

This role is eligible for a £2500 new joiner bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

You will be responsible for;

  • Helping to develop a claims service strategy and claims propositions that give the customer exactly what they need.

  • Contributes to the Lloyd’s Broker strategy to support Travelers operations and growth targets.

  • Representing Claim in internal and external customer meetings.

  • Monitor service performance; liaise with Underwriters on building opportunities to grow our influence on the renewal and new business processes. Work with Claim teams and Risk Control to provide information on claims activity and trends ensuring a market differentiating customer experience.

  • Work with Claims Business Line Managers, Underwriters and Business Development Managers on executing the strategy for acquiring and retaining profitable business.

  • Attend business presentations to provide details of the Travelers claims service offering and establish the most effective claims handling solution for the type of client we are servicing.

  • Works with and supports other Claim relationship managers where appropriate to ensure claim value proposition is consistent across Travelers Europe.

Day to day you will:

  • Deliver a repeatable and compelling claim proposition for different customer personas.

  • Support relevant new business prospecting and pitches – Identifying and managing claim people.

  • Onboard customer or claim brokers at new business stage.

  • Provide relevant customer insights.

  • Deliver claim portfolio review meetings.

  • Steward any contentious claims.

  • Build a bond with brokers and customers.

  • Be jointly accountable for new business targets.

  • Be jointly accountable for renewal targets.

  • Be responsible role for sharing claim performance with underwriters.

  • Be responsible role for de-escalating contentious claims and communicating with the relevant underwriters.

This role will require periodic travel to meet with clients, so flexibility in your schedule will be required when requested.

Capabilities You’ll possess:

As well as being a strong communicator, we are looking for a quick thinking and solution driven candidate that has the client front and centre of what they do. Experience of managing key client relationships, addressing claims trends and issues affecting their business as well as mitigating risks and exposures on their behalf, is essential to this role.

  • A market recognised track record of delivering claims solutions to complex clients is essential to this role.

  • Strong technical claims expertise in relevant Lloyd’s products is a must.

  • Experience of external presentations and pitches.

  • A team player with positive attitude and effective engagement skills equally adept at working on own and within a team.

  • Solid business acumen and ability to clearly explain; claim operational metrics and business performance.

  • An ability to form a bond and build compelling relationships with brokers and customers. Capable of putting yourself in their shoes when explaining complex technical claim issues.

  • Adept at working across multiple complimentary planning lines.

  • Experience with dealing successfully with large multinational brokerages.

  • Capable of managing multiple clients and providing the appropriate level of interaction during relevant market events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience managing key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures as required.
