Our ability to deliver brilliant, personalised experiences for all our 30m customers is fundamental to our future success. As a business we are investing extensively in the automation of our operations and networks, and in building our base management and data capabilities. This will allow us to take better decisions with data and to act on them in an automated way across all our customer interactions.

The Insight and Analytics Chapter use internal and external data sources to develop short, medium- and long-term recommendations, to improve performance across Base Management.    Through strategic insights capability, it also delivers high quality commercial insight to influence CFU and BU level strategy and action. This team provides macro insight, external best practice, diagnostics and problem solving, tailored coding and analysis. It will also build models, develop tests and simulations, develop process automation and take ownership of a knowledge catalogue to support Consumer campaigns.

As an Analytics professional you will bring your analytical knowledge to our journey squads, engage and work collaboratively stakeholders providing vital analysis that will help Base Value and Personalisation make accurate decisions for our customer base.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for enabling decisions that contribute towards Strategic and Household Insights squad objectives through provision of actionable insights and best in class analytics.

  • Accountable for delivering in depth analysis (and reporting where required) of customer base across all brands and understanding commercial drivers impacting our customer or household base (i.e. ARPU, MRC, SARC, churn, enrichment, usage, allowance, speeds, devices, product holding etc.).

  • Act as the subject matter expert for specific business analysis required by squads, proactively looking for ways of improvement.

  • Provide analysis balancing the different needs of stakeholders and aim to gain commercial acumen to proactively suggest analysis that will help stakeholders have a better understanding of business problem or opportunities.

  • Develop business cases/scenarios and commercial evaluation where required. Engage with stakeholders from trading, marketing and finance as required to provide further context complement knowledge of case at hand.

  • As a key member of the Strategic and Household Insights squad, engage with all stakeholders to have a holistic view of squad objective and the role of each member. Define and suggest optimum metrics and analytics required that will contribute to overall goal.

  • Work collaboratively with other analysts to assure consistency in code building, outputs and build a culture of knowledge sharing.

  • Where required, provide reporting and analysis leveraging on visualisation tools.

The skills and experience you will have under your belt

  • Strong problem-solving skills; identifying the key problem/opportunity and drivers versus data noise.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Good commercial acumen understanding business drivers surrounding customer base

  • Making the difficult simple to clearly communicate latest data and reports to all levels of the organisation.

  • Good stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to prioritise a complex mix of work and manage time effectively

  • Use of agile/lean methodologies for continuous delivery and improvement

  • Strong skills in Excel, SQL and other relevant tools to gather and analyse data, with a desire to progress to Python in the longer term

  • Strong skills in tools such as PowerPoint and QlikSense that are used to deliver simple and effective commercial answers or data insight stories to key stakeholders

  • SQL using a DWH environment e.g. (Teradata, Netezza, Oracle) or using Cloud based DWH such as GCP, AWS or Azure.

  • Knowledge of GDPR policy
