Transdev Director of Operational Performance in Lombard, Illinois

Overview of Position:

Direct and oversee the strategic implementation of improvement programs, processes, and tools for the Transdev US Transit locations that drive continual incremental improvement in our operational and financial performance. During the development and implementation of these initiatives this position will collaborate with RVPS, AVP’s, GM, and other functional leaders to ensure success. This role is both diagnostic and collaborative.

SALARY RANGE-$124,000-$155,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews operational performance using available reports and data to identify opportunities for improvements and additional analysis.

  • In collaboration with other functional leaders oversee and direct the development and implementation of tools and processes that drive continual incremental improvement at our operational locations.

  • Identify best business practices that help maximize efficiencies both at a project level and a national level.

  • Oversee, conduct and manage regular Performance Review Meetings (PRM) at our Transit locations.

  • Oversee startups and shutdowns. Act as a resource for guidance and the accountable party meeting our contractual and financial targets in these business activities.

  • Provide training to corporate personnel and location management on Transdev operational tools and processes.

  • Manages multiple assigned projects independently and gives direction on assigned projects to a cross-functional team.

  • Lead, direct, and provide guidance to direct reports .

  • Integrates and supports Lean implementation in process development.

  • Performs other duties and activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business, Finance, or another equivalent degree. Relevant experience (6 years minimum) can be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience

  • 4 - 6 Years of supervisory experience at progressively higher levels required.

  • 3-5 years of experience with operational oversight required.

  • Experience at Assistant General Manager, General Manager, or Director level preferred.

  • Experience in Transit Management preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Thorough understanding of transit operations, processes and business metrics and

  • Firm understanding of transit operations and the key levers that drive operational and financial improvement.

  • Knowledge of Transit software including but not limited to; Transdev’s proprietary VDS and Mobi Systems, TMS, GBM, or Trapeze Blockbuster and Trapeze para-cutter, a plus; Cubic, Avail, GPS, Transtrack, GFI, Navtrak, Clever Devices, and Google Earth, etc.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferably with Excel, including import and export functions.

  • Knowledge of financial literacy concepts in a business setting including budgeting, P&L management, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Ability to build trust in the field with local staff through integrity, respect, and effective communication.

  • Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately with little direct supervision.

  • Aptitude to think creatively and strategically to anticipate changing requirements and serve as a change agent within the organization.

This position will require the ability to travel to the corporate and various field locations (50%); most domestic but occasional international travel may be required.

  • This position is 100% remote.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • The majority of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space quipped with a telephone and computer.

  • Employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
