Overview This position is responsible for preforming basic GIS tasks of a group of GIS professionals and watershed scientists in the ECOGEOMORPHOLOGY and TOPOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS LAB (ET-AL). Successful performance will ensure that projects are completed on-time with a high level of organization and accuracy.

Responsibilities Major Duties:

  • Uses GIS data and ArcGIS software to perform various tasks for a wide range of on-going projects. Duties include:

  • Spatial data capture (internet-based), data organization/management, data manipulation, and basic spatial data analysis.

  • Potential for field data collection.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor informed concerning work progress including present and potential work problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned This is a performance-oriented workplace. It is not enough just to show up to work. We expect our employees to be activity involved in project work the entire time they are here. This means personal email, texting, online chatting and phone calls, etc. should be keep to a minimum. Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in termination.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
  • Experience using ESRI mapping software.
  • Advanced skills in operating a computer using standard or customized software applications.
  • Ability to handle the frequent interruptions and deadlines that contribute to the complexity of the work.

Advertised Salary $15.00 per hour

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
