Overview Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role entails planning, writing, and editing communication materials for the Caine College of the Arts (CCA). This position involves copywriting and editing press releases, emails, social media content, supporting multimedia, and other communication materials. Additionally, the role includes compiling reports and strategies for large-scale communication campaigns, analyzing the results of these efforts, and providing actionable proposals and suggestions based on the findings. The ideal candidate will be a skilled copywriter and editor with a keen interest in marketing, media, and the arts.

Responsibilities 30% Communications Writing and Material Creation

  • Write press releases, emails, and copy for longer social media posts for both department-level and college-level materials.
  • Interview, follow up, and confirm information with partners to build content necessary for written pieces.
  • Prepare the written portion of materials used by marketing, including mailers, newsletters, emails, and other materials prepared for distribution.
  • Create outlines, team talks, and other guidelines and informative materials for internal communications to share information among teams across the CCA.
  • Assist the Marketing and Communications team in creating materials for communication efforts, including video content, photography, and other forms of media. 30% Communications Editing

  • Edit press releases, emails, and other forms of copy within the CCA marketing department.

  • Review distributed communication materials (materials with copy, storytelling, or other content associated with communications) to confirm accuracy, correct errors, and ensure quality within the CCA
  • Marketing and Communications department.
  • Lead the editing process conducted by other team members, including communications student workers and other writers. 15% Communications Plans and Strategies

  • Create weekly communication plans outlining tasks and projects.

  • In addition to executing the communication plan's tasks, oversee any communication tasks delegated to other team members.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies aligning with marketing campaigns, including social media efforts, multimedia, and other content in addition to traditional communication materials.
  • Oversee delegated communication strategy tasks across the CCA Marketing and Communications department. 15% Communications Analytics and Reports

  • Create reports to track communication engagement and impact with the intended audiences.

  • Track all communication efforts within the CCA marketing department, including project assignments, communication timing, and more.
  • Assist the marketing team in social media tracking and reporting to develop communication proposals and plans that support social media efforts.
