About the role:

The Global Asset Lead Chocolate is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing plans to reach maximum asset capability across our global chocolate processing footprint. The position mainly focuses on existing assets within our manufacturing sites, which encompasses more than 40 locations (including specialties, decorations and beverage processing factories) in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

The position is part of the Operations Innovation and Strategy organization but will collaborate across Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain teams to define asset capabilities and develop criteria to improve performance of individual asset productivity, availability, energy and efficiency. The person will work closely with COE’s, Engineering, QA, Planning and Continuous Improvement leads to align on business processes and projects in the support of achieving maximum asset performance. This person will support and contribute to the technology platform facilitated by the Process Excellence teams and work with maintenance related SME’s (Subject Matter Expert) making sure that standards and good practices are shared across the network in a structured way. The person is responsible for developing and improving relevant KPIs for asset performance management across different levels of the organization in alignment with the group’s targets and BC’s ambition to Go4Zero (Go for Zero on Safety Incidents, Quality or Service Issues and Sustainability Impact) and as well support manufacturing in the roll out of the PM pillar under the BCOS (BC’s Operating System).

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and validate and support of standardization and breakthroughs aligned with the SME communities while covering 7 clusters encompassing more then 40 sites.

  • Participate in monthly capacity/OEE business process review with the relevant stakeholders like Process Excellence, BCOS leads, Local CI and Maintenance Leads supported by the reliability & MRO data analysts from the central asset reliability team in the respective GBS

  • Support, through SME communities, as a hub for problem-solving related to asset performance

  • Lead CI Way of working (RCA, Teamboards, 5S, DBN, etc) in the Global team and partner with Cross Functional Teams

  • Validate innovation pilots (i.e asset health monitoring, smart process projects) upwards (collaboration with COE’s) and downwards (Gemba) in the organization.

  • Validate learning material together while leveraging BC’s training academy and future E&T (Education & Training) pillar in BCOS.

  • Build and calibrate global policies (Inventory, Asset Management, CMMS … ) for further deployment together with the Global Asset Reliability Lead as standards for the sites

  • Act as the local point for asset lifecycle related audits and interface with our SHE, Process, Engineering, Risk and Sustainability functions as needed. Maintain a risk register for assets for strategic facilitating the decision making process by the leadership teams in the respective clusters

  • Assist in the development of best practices, the definition of standards, and set up of the governance for asset SME communities in the technology platforms to support competence development through coaching and training in cooperation with the BCOS coaches

  • Build and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with global, cluster and local support functions

  • Work with Maximo, MES, Poka and other support systems

  • Assist in the preparation, implementation and standardization of Maximo interfaced with POKA and MES deployment globally

  • Develop with the relevance SME community facilitators PM’s and PdM’s for multiple sites to continuously improve SHE, Reliability, Quality, production efficiency, availability and labor/material effectiveness

  • Participate in the development, deployment of asset health management in accordance with the group strategy, COE assets and COE Digital, connected to the BCOS framework and aligned with BC digitalization strategy

  • Supporting BCOS (BC Operating System)

  • Support the BCOS coaches in implementing the PM pillar of the BCOS program

  • Support maturity assessments frameworks and benchmarking as part of the Go4Zero system

  • Contribute to Gemba initiatives collaborating with global and cluster leadership

  • Actively support and manage content (standards and training materials) working together with the DMS Data Management Systems team

  • Support the yearly recurring productivity commitment of the sites in scope

  • Drive data driven decision making culture

About you:

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (must have)

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in maintenance/reliability engineering and preferably in continuous process manufacturing environments

  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt (must have )

  • English – advanced (must have) and basic French or Dutch, Portuguese (advantageous)

  • In-depth knowledge of equipment, site operations, maintenance processes, production processes, cost drivers, and supporting digital technology.

  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and a clear aptitude for digitalization IoT/AI etc

  • A strong understanding of lean beliefs and leadership behaviors. You have ideally gained first-hand experience operating within an established global Lean CI culture

  • You feel at home at the Gemba, having a strong connection with shop floor culture. You’re not an ‘ivory tower’ leader

  • Able to shape a long-term vision and turn strategy into action

  • Experience with facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Extensive experience with equipment and spare parts strategies.

  • Knowledge of condition monitoring tools and new technology to assess asset health

  • Experience in working with Maximo (or a similar CMMS) and Excel, Autocad and other supporting systems

  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time in order to foster collaboration and assure connection with the Gemba
