The Facilities Maintenance Tech 3 is responsible for performing, independently or with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center. The Facilities Maintenance Tech 3 represents and follows outlined company guidelines for general work practices and performs assigned duties in accordance with proper safe work practices. The Facilities Maintenance Tech 3 takes initiative to coordinate maintenance activities with to ensure the safe and satisfactory completion of all tasks. The Facilities Maintenance Tech 3 serves as a lead troubleshooter and provides onsite technical skills; therefore, the Facilities Maintenance Tech 3 must have a thorough understanding of the product flow and operational goals to effectively support the Fulfillment Operations.Responsibilities: Lead the maintenance team in the repair and maintenance of equipment diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools Responsible for performing, independently or with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center. Monitors all material handling equipment performance and make enhanements or mdocification to increase production as directed and approved by management. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures. Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/output (I/O) devices Provides resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues. Troubleshoots and repairs key components for the Fulfillment Center Participates in keeping the conveyor systems and maintenance area clean. Completes work orders, PM’s, other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures. CMMS experience required. Assist with developing plans on how to accomplish department goals. Maintains inventory of company supplied tools. Performs general facility maintenance such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, plumbing, electrical repairs, etc. Working at heights of 40ft or more will be required. Must be willing and able to be certified on powered industrial equipment. Working at heights of 40ft or more will be required. Other duties as instructed by supervision/management. Qualifications: AAS in an Engineering related field preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of degree including military service. 5-10 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, technical troubleshooting, maintenance and/or installation is required. Strong electrical background, knowledge of low voltage controls and PLC. Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of conveyor and/or sortation Strong mechanical troubleshooting Solid electrical troubleshooting Solid controls troubleshooting Preventative/predictive maintenance modification and upgrade support Installation Required Skills and Competencies: Adept at analyzing and resolving mechanical and technical issues. Excellent hand and eye coordination skills Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives (verbal and written) in English Command of basic math skills to ensure accurate inventory Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends as necessary Command of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out) Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling of freight, standing for long periods of time Sometimes working in extreme temperatures Safely utilize manual and electronic operated equipment to transport cartons or other items by means of pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying Preferred Qualifications: Certificate(s)/License(s) in related fields such as Journeymen or Master Electrician, CMRP and/or CMRT, etc. Preferred prior experience and/or working Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens products. Network troubleshooting a plus. Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Experience working with and managing outside vendors, customers, and business partners Prior working knowledge of current building vendors, software, platforms, and systems desired Previous industry-based experience. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands: Must possess visual acuity to read fine print as needed. Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions. Must possess capability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to push or pull carts of up to 200 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and grasp products. Travel: This position is not remote.
