Development Engineer Mechanics

We are seeking a talented and motivated Development Engineer specializing in mechanics to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanics systems, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. This role involves the design, development, and testing of mechanics components and systems to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out work within development of Mechanical systems and components within the CB division. Development work is based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • To lead assigned work with partners, consultants and suppliers

  • Develop systems and if needed components together with suppliers

  • Together with Principal Systems Engineer (PSE) define specification for components and systems in cooperation with Chief Engineers and responsible R&D Manager

  • Secure that components and systems meet specified technical customer demands, product safety, legislations requirements and internal demands for products

  • In consultation with PSE coordinate components and systems design between products

  • In consultation with PSE respond on service, production and supplier issues

  • In consultation with responsible R&D Manager and PSE plan and perform own activities according to specified requirements and time schedule

  • To contribute for co-operation between R&D and Sourcing and Operation

  • Responsibility for regularly reporting to responsible R&D Manager and PSE regarding outcome and possible deviations

  • According to customer demands, choose design, material and components

  • In consultation with responsible line Manager and PSE purchase component for test and evaluations

  • In consultation with responsible R&D Manager and PSE perform customer and supplier visits

  • In consultation with PSE initiate and order testing for verification and evaluation of a design.

What you will need to succeed:

Education:

  • B.ScorM.Sc.degree within relevant field or similar knowledge through experience.

Experience:

  • Solid technical knowledge regarding non-road mobile machinery or similar rubber tire vehicles

  • Experience of product development activities within mechanical engineering is needed

  • Experience from similar tasks are qualifying

  • Experience regarding other Kalmar products are qualifying.
