In this position...

You will lead and support current model production / design problem solving cross-functional teams, using 8D and/or 6-Sigma Methodologies to improve product reliability: working on axel, transmission, hybrid, and electric vehicle power unit components.

Responsibilities include coordinating returns from the field, distributing them to the floor for teardown writing the necessary work orders, managing storage of critical components, and arranging shipping of evaluated units to Reman.

What you'll do…

  • Coordinate part returns and manage their flow through the garage for troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate/Support all High Time in Service design verification testing, both systems and component including writing test requests, coordinating sample builds, preparation and delivery.

  • Coordinate root cause analysis, including writing teardown requests, coordinating post-test evaluations and disposition of post-test hardware.

  • Support best in class benchmarking including coordination of teardown, GPIRS for new benchmarking studies and teardown reports.

  • Manage the list of teardowns from the field with each high time in service engineer.

  • Lead transmission and/or axle builds for validation development required when design change improvements are made.

  • Support Part Ordering, shipments for troubleshooting and coordination with our plants where applicable

  • Manage test units, status, storage, etc.

  • Is the key point of contact for axle and transmission pedigree tracking for both low and high time in service evaluations.

You'll have...

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience required in the automotive industry, Powertrain knowledge (transmission, axle, or driveline) is a plus.

  • Candidate must be a good communicator and well organized since this role is really focused around supporting the investigative work being done by the engineers on my team. Must be a self-starter with knowledge of the vehicle components such that all the work in our troubleshooting efforts is managed through the shop floor where applicable and good records are kept. There will be some overlap with the transmission and driveline systems groups as well in support of shipping, receiving and other work coordination with the various groups at ATNPC.

This position is a range of salary grades 5-8 .
