Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer in Liverpool, New York

Description: THE WORK

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of essential tasks to uphold the quality and reliability of Lockheed Martin's products. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Travel to suppliers; will vary based on program requirements and supplier performance. Travel is primarily domestic but can be international on occasion.

• Represent Supplier Quality Assurance within an integrated program Subcontract and Quality Team environment.

• Take an active role in new supplier selection and development activities to assure long term program success. Make recommendations on potential supplier usage based on demonstrated ability to meet requirements, supplier assessments, and historical performance.

• Collaborate with LM engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards and methods are in place at suppliers in support of LM procurements.

• Review of program contractual and drawing requirements and support inspection activities based on applicable quality flow-down text per the purchase orders

• Perform supplier process surveillance & product source inspections; commission and mentor 3rd Party Source Inspection resources.

• Basic Supplier Quality support activities including: verification of special processes, part acceptance planning & defect analysis.

• Evaluate supplier Root Cause Analysis and verify Corrective Action effectiveness of supplier nonconforming product. Provide assistance as required to ensure comprehensive solutions.

• Providing hands on support to Receiving Inspection personnel on products involving a wide range of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electric disciplines.

Successful candidates will also need to provide reporting on Hardware and Supply Chain quality metrics utilized to manage SQA and supplier performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent combined with 5 yrs experience in QA and/or Manufacturing in support of machining and mechanical assembly processes.

• Proficient in reading Engineering Drawings, Schematics, and Performance Specifications.

• Experience in defect data analysis, including Root Cause Analysis and ensuring effectiveness of Corrective Action Plans

• Experience working in an AS9100/ISO9001 environment or other regulated industry

• Ability to obtain clearance

Desired Skills:

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Proficient in First Article Inspection (FAI) creation & review (AS9102)

• Proficient in defect data analysis, including Root Cause Analysis and ensuring effectiveness of Corrective Action Plans

• Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems

• Familiarity with electro mechanical hardware

• Familiarity with special processes such as welding, brazing, soldering

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $78,500 - $150,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $90,200 - $170,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
